Camps for 6th - 8th Grade Students
Be, Know, Do
Campers will receive leadership training while focusing on the "BE, KNOW, DO" attributes of a leader. A Leader Must "BE." Leaders must be a person of strong character committed to professional moral standards. Leaders must set the correct example of individual values and convey beliefs and values to his/her followers. Furthermore, leaders must be able to resolve complex problems. A Leader must "KNOW" and learn before they can lead. A leader needs to "KNOW" (understand) standards, themselves, his/her job, and his/her followers to be an effective leader. Knowledge is far more critical than memorization; it is understanding. Subordinates expect leaders to be the most knowledgeable person on the team. A Leader Must "Do" Action is the key. A leader is supposed to "BE and KNOW" everything there is to know about being a leader, but unless they "DO" those things that a leader must "DO," a leader is doomed to fail. Ultimately, it is what a leader does that is most important. Moreover, a leader must provide direction, purpose, and motivation.
